My favorite fall views in Ohio

I’m not going to say “I love fall” because everyone says that and I have to be different.  So, I will say I love to view the changing leaves, and Ohio has some great ways to do that.  Here is a list of some of my favorite fall views in Ohio.

Mudflats Boardwalk at Hoover Reservoir

This place during golden hour is a dream.  During the summer it is usually jam-packed with people fishing on summer nights, making it hard to even find parking.  However, in the fall, there are very few people there, and it’s a great place for solace.

Hocking Hills

Obviously, Hocking Hills is a great place to go at any time of the year, but it’s beautiful as the leaves change.  One of my favorite spots is Ash Cave because it’s impressive and easily accessible.

Hocking Hills Scenic Air Tours

If you’re looking for something unique to do and a great way to see the leaves, consider an air tour!  It was a very cool experience and seriously beautiful from up above.  Last year, we scheduled this when the leaves were supposed to be at their peak, and they were almost there.

Glenlaurel Inn

I have seen this place listed on so many of the “the best places to stay in Ohio” lists.  It is luxurious, beautiful, and has an old-world charm.  We loved it here.  I know people who go every year.

We went when it was the perfect fall weekend and it did not disappoint.  We walked around the grounds in the day, and it made me want to invest in some land of my own.  For more details on this place, read this post I wrote last fall.

Mohican State Park

This is probably the best place I’ve been to see fall foilage overall.  There are a lot of hiking trails, some observation points that give you a good look at water and trees, and it has a covered bridge.  It’s classic Ohio.

Earl Barnhart’s Buzzards Roost Nature Preserve

When I think of fall in Ohio, this is the exact image I have in my head.  The day started cold and windy, but we wanted to have a classic Ohio day.  We did this hike, then went to a pumpkin patch, and then ended the day at the Circleville Pumpkin Festival for some treats.  It was all you want for an Ohio fall day.

Renick’s Family Market

I added this because it’s fall, and you gotta see a pumpkin patch. We walked around and I said “bippity boppity boo” just to see what would happen.
